The Cybertronian equivalent to how we treat ancient Greek, Latin or Sanskrit. Names that end in -us or -ium or similar faux Latin tend to evoke name or terms of older Cybertronian lingua franca.Some more Cybertronian conlang theory, more of it built on the idea their language is mostly impossible to reconstruct properly in Earth languages but that certain trends in translation appear:
But basically, in continuities where the Decepticons exist as a distinct faction but Constructicons existed before them, then it used to be Construction-kindred or Construction-type or maybe Construction- caste/guild/whatever societal organization they used. This also applies to the G1 Constructi cons who weren't originally evil. Just because their names end in -con doesn't mean they are automatically aligned with Decepticons. Like Sharkti cons (multiple continuities) or the Muta cons of Aligned. Same with non-Cybertronian (in some continuity) or non-aligned subtypes still using the term of a deformation of it. Mini- con are an example as a term of the old linguistics sticking. So slowly the -con suffix for a group got phased out in language and, when translated, they use -bot instead so it doesn't seem a little weird. Addendum to my -con suffix theory: the only reason the -bot suffix is used for Autobot subgroups is the result of linguistic drift and the -con suffix falling out of favor due to being more often than not associated with the hated Decepticons.
